The lands of Leonardo
From Pistoia exit of the A11 Firenze-Mare take the SP 9 towards Cantagrillo / Casalguidi, then follow signs for San Baronto. From here follow the SP 16 towards Lamporecchio. From Lamporecchio take the SP 10 towards Cerreto Guidi. In Mastromarco, continue along the SP 48 to Lazzeretto, then follow the SP 31 to Cerreto Guidi. From here, turn left and take the SP 105 towards Vinci. From Vinci follow the SP 13 (Via Pistoiese) to the hamlets of Fornello, Porciano, Papiano, Casa del Monte. Follow the SP 13 up to San Baronto, then turn right and take the SP 9 towards Casalguidi / Cantagrillo. From here continue to the Pistoia exit of the A 11.
To be seen: the abbey church with a crypt from the 10th century. In San Baronto, the parish church of Santo Stefano with polychrome altarpiece by G. della Robbia and Villa Rospigliosi in Lamporecchio, the Medici villa of Cerreto Guidi which houses the Hunting Museum and the church of San Leonardo. In Vinci the Leonardiano Museum, the Conti Guidi castle, the Ideal Museum, the church of Santa Croce, the sanctuary of the Holy Annunziata, the birthplace of Leonardo in Anchiano, the church of S. Maria Assunta (13th century) in Faltognano, with the historic holm oak, the castle of Porciano and the “Villa dell’americana” in Papiano.
